How To:
IG Vienna Scholarships

A brief guide!

How to: IG Vienna Scholarships

How can I apply?

You want to apply for a scholarship at IG Wien? At first, the application process can seem a bit complicated, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Here's a little guide to a flawless application:

1. Find the Application Information: Go to the homepage ig-wien.at/scholarships25  There you will find all the important information about the application process and also our specifications about how your application should look.

2. Check our eligibility: If you meet our formal requirements (e.g. age, relation to Vienna, etc.), you are ready to go!

3. Prepare your documents:

  • CV (Without a photo and in the same language as the written answer!)
  • Answered Questions: written entirely in German or entirely in English
  • One (1) additional document you want to show us (Optional!)

⚠️ Important: Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications that include a photo. Please check all your documents. If, for example, your certificate contains a photo, please black it out.

4. Fill Out the Online Application Form: Fill out your personal information in the online application form linked on our webpage.

5. Follow the Writing Guidelines:

  • Question 1: Maximum 150 words
  • Questions 2 & Questions 3: Maximum 50 words
  • If these limits are exceeded, we will not read beyond the word limit.

6. Your Reflection on the Given Quote:

  • maximum one (1) A4 page
  • What do we expect from your contribution? If you decide to write a text, here is what we expect: We love to read insightful, creative, critical, personal, or analytical perspectives based on our input quote. There are no formal limitations.
  • The more original, exciting, captivating, surprising, and even provocative your text is, the easier it will catch our eye.
  • In the design of your page, you are not bound to the medium of text – everything that comes to your mind is allowed. If you don’t find the quotation inspiring, you are also free to use the A4 page for something else entirely.
  • If you choose to write, please limit your answer to 1.15 line spacing, 12-point font, with standard margins

7. Need help? If you have considered all the previous points and still have a question or technical issues, check the FAQs on our website. If they don’t provide an answer, please send an email to our Scholarship Affairs Board Member Flora Beck flora.beck@ig-wien.at

8. Submit your application! If everything is clear, you are ready to go: Click on the application button and fill out the following form. Please do not forget to attach the whole application as one PDF (no single PDFs for each question!) And that's it. Now it's our turn and we will read your application carefully and with interest.

Please keep in mind that we can ONLY accept COMPLETE applications. If a CV is missing or submitted with a photo, questions are not answered, etc., then unfortunately, we will have to discard your application and cannot evaluate it.

Please include an email address where you can be contacted (it does not have to be your Google mail address). In case you are selected as a scholarship holder, you have to accept the scholarship within one week - otherwise, the next person on the waiting list will get it!

You will receive an acceptance or rejection for a scholarship about five to six weeks after the application deadline (likely in mid-May).

Best regards and have fun with your applications!
